My interest in dogs was sparked as a young boy by my Uncle Ralph Parsons who was Chairman of the Greyhound Club. I bought my first show quality Old English Sheepdog in 1970 and I started judging in 1973 and have travelled the world officiating at Specialities in USA, Canada, Australia and most European countries. Showing and breeding OES brought a lot of success and I have bred many National and International Champions. I am particularly proud of the soundness of the Amblegait stock, especially the work on Hip Dysplasia and helping form The Kennel Club/British Veterinary Association recording system. For 24 years I was the Breed Representative at the Kennel Club and was a founder member of the East Anglian OES Club and am now the Patron. From 1978 I was the organiser of the PRO Dogs National charity Dog of the Year competition and served on the Council. I was the Exhibition Manager for the OES Club Centenary Show in 1988 and I have held many other positions in the world of dogs. I am the author of two books on the OES and a keen writer for magazines worldwide. I am delighted and honoured to be judging the World Show 2021. I shall be looking for a traditional OES with type, a correct coat, sound temperament and movement, and hope to find one that I would be proud to take home with me. Good luck to all the exhibitors at this great show and keep safe and healthy.
