BVV - BVV - Brno Exhibition Grounds and Fairs
The Brno Exhibition Center with a net exhibition area of 130,000 square meters ranks among the largest exhibition grounds in the world (23rd place). The exhibition center was built intentionally between Prague and Bratislava on the occasion of the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia. Many of the exhibition buildings are masterpieces of functionalist architecture. Thanks to continuous development and modernization since 2000, it is a modern exhibition center suitable for organizing trade fairs, congresses, sports events, concerts or top political meetings. Pavilion P, opened in June 2009 with a net exhibition area of over 10,000 square meters, is one of the most modern buildings at the exhibition center.
The Brno Trade Fairs continue the tradition of exhibitions in Brno, which began in 1928 with the Exhibition of Contemporary Culture in Czechoslovakia. Since the 1950s, trade fair activities at the Brno Exhibition Grounds have developed and Brno has gained a reputation as The Trade Fair city. Approximately 50 Trade Fairs take place at the Brno Exhibition Center every year, which are visited by almost 1 million visitors.
